Tems, a popular singer from Nigeria, had a really interesting moment at the Global Citizen Festival in Ghana when she discussed why she consistently advocates for gender equality. The hosts questioned Tems about why she consistently advocates for gender equality in her songs and podcast while the audience applauded. In response, the singer stated that she supports gender equality because not enough opportunities are provided for women. She continued by saying that if she could provide more chances and possibilities for women, she would. Tems said, “We don’t get enough chances. Women need more chances, women need more opportunities in this world. And if I can give it, why not. “I feel if you love someone you show them off.   Being on natural hair for more than a year without seeing much improvement sent me on a quest to find out natural ways of grooming my hair to look beautiful and healthy without spending much. 

 Okra is one  of the veggies I love so much especially when mixed with stew. I can eat as much as I want without fear of getting fat because it contains vitamins that aids easy digestion.

Do you know there are benefits of putting of putting okra in hair aside from putting it in stomach? What makes okro so awesome on hair?

Okro is rich in all sorts of healthy nutrients that can keep your hair smiling . It is rich in vitamins A, C and K as well as minerals like magnesium and folate. The protein and oil contained in the seeds of Okro serves as the source of first rate vegetable protein. It is enriched with amino acids which include tryptophan, cysteine and other sulfur amino acids. All of these nutrients work together to create a hair cure and boost its growth.

It is usually used as hair gel since it gives great curls and can offer lasting hold without crunchiness. It fights frizz, it moisturizes strands and promotes hair growth.


Ingredients

 • 8 okra pods

 •Peppermint essential oil (optional, to help mask the okra smell).


Preparation

 •Cut the Okro horizontally in big chunks.

 • Pour about 8 ounces of water into a pot and toss in the Okro.

 •Bring the water to boil and let it      simmer on low heat.

 •Allow it to cool, then sieve.

 •Your okro gel is ready.
