Tems, a popular singer from Nigeria, had a really interesting moment at the Global Citizen Festival in Ghana when she discussed why she consistently advocates for gender equality. The hosts questioned Tems about why she consistently advocates for gender equality in her songs and podcast while the audience applauded. In response, the singer stated that she supports gender equality because not enough opportunities are provided for women. She continued by saying that if she could provide more chances and possibilities for women, she would. Tems said, “We don’t get enough chances. Women need more chances, women need more opportunities in this world. And if I can give it, why not. “I feel if you love someone you show them off. Be a person of substance

There are people who look very promising when evaluated from a distance,  but have little or nothing to offer when you get close. You remember the fig tree 

Jesus cursed on His Way to Jerusalem. Scriptures have it that, when Jesus saw the  tree, it was having leaves, and it was not usual for fig trees to produce leaf without 

fruits.

 So Jesus seeing the leaves from a distance just assumed there should be fruits on the tree. But to His amazement nothing was found. The tree had nothing to offer Jesus to satisfy His hunger – Mark 11:12-15. 

Don’t be like such a fig tree. Don’t appear bigger outside than inside. Because when people place demand on the personality you put up, and you can’t deliver accordingly, it could be very embarrassing. Don’t make noise without effect. Don’t seek popularity at the expense of fulfilling purpose. Don’t seek to be important at the expense of been relevant. Don’t seek success at the 

expense of impact. Be a person of substance. Dare to leave people better than you 

met them. Shalom!
